Drawing Plants and Flowers

Saturday 11 July
South Hill - 10am - 2 Hours
Corinne Carlson
If you love all things nature, this is the art class for you! In this class, we will be conducting primary observation studies of flowers and plants. You will get the chance to admire plants and flowers up close and learn how to confidently create inspired drawings with pencil and fineliner pens. Our experienced instructor will guide you through the process of drawing the beautiful plants and flowers that nature has to offer. We will cover topics such as simplifying shapes, creating texture and detail, and using colours to enhance your drawings. This is a perfect opportunity for both beginners and more experienced artists alike to meet up and create art in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Our friendly instructor will provide guidance, helpful feedback, and support along the way, to generate new ideas for your art practice, and collaborate in a like-minded space. Visited with the host for half an hour. I concluded that she's a talented artist and has much to offer. So I'm rating HER not your organization. I had cancelled the class because of the opaque nature of your organization. But I wanted more information so I went to the site. Emily was there, but throughout our long chat, no one else showed up This is obviously not a "Spokane group". Possibly HQ in Australia.

I learned a lot about shading and I was challenged by drawing upside down. I went out and bought some different pencils and blenders and will definitely keep drawing.

I am new to the art world. I started pastel pencils/pan pastels about 3 years ago, as I had found a pet and wildlife artist who lives in Manchester, England. So that is where I watch her tutorials. I have done over 40 pieces in that time. Intersting fact: I never took lessons and basically only drew "stick people"...LOL! I recently found my biological family in Canada, and discovered 2 cousins and my uncle are all artist. My uncle actually has an art book of his commissions, my one cousin does

8x10 stretched canvas- For this painting I really wanted to focus on the landscape. I imagine this being in a world where residents know to leave dragons alone and respect them. This also was my first time using slow dry and satin glazing mediums in the acrylic paints. Definitely try them out if you haven't yet.

This is a 5x10 value practice using Multnomah Falls as subject. This is also the first time ever painting this iconic beauty. One can have a great subject, vibrant colors, and lots of details, but without proper values it's flat and un realistic if that's what your seeking.
