I thought Roger did a great job at teaching the basic skills and then gave us a lot of opportunity to practice. He came prepared, he spoke concisely (which is hard to come by with art teachers). I appreciated his class!

I love to work with reclaimed wood in this case. I found that the edge of plywood is beautiful with all the different layers of wood, so I ripped several pieces on my table saw, glued them together, ran it through my planter, created these four dimensional pieces and just built a puzzle. The piece is two feet by four feet and it's hung in my kitchen above the refrigerator

Title or Location: Manito Lilacs
I went to Manito Park during the spring with my wife and 2 kids. We go multiple times per year, but always start the year out with the Lilacs first, because it just smells so darn good. After having lunch and getting some photos of the family and the park, we ventured back home. A few months later, struggling to find inspiration for my art, I searched my photos and came across a couple of the photos I had taken that spring. I was instantly inspired to start painting and I haven't stopped yet.

I had envisioned this image in the back of my mind. Once the right time and weather came together, I carried my ladder and made it.

In 2003 I lost my 19 yr old daughter, Katie, in a tragic car accident. This series of sculptures was my way of expressing my pain and anguish over her loss. In my world out of control , my art gave me an outlet for my pain.

I decided to try a looser approach with this painting and not get bogged down with details and techniques. Turns out I had much more fun and actually liked the end result. &128515

Some works are a culmination of being in that place of peace with God and self! No thought of the how or the why everything just falls into that place where you are at peace with peace.

4x4 ceramic tile. Technique: Bloom- fluid art. Many artists don?t recognize fluid art as a true art. Wrong. Being able to create a piece that brings in the viewer with interest, emotion or just questions is a viable technique. Manipulating fluid medium comes with many challenges. Not the least of them being time to work on the piece. You only have so must time to work on your piece before potentially disfiguring your vision. This piece became evident from the moment the paint flowed. It
